Cookie Dough & Apples

We have some extra items for sale from our Fruit & Cookie Dough Fund Raiser.  If you are interested, please contact the school office at 306-764-6289.
 - 1 case of MacIntosh Apples ($17)
 - Cookie Dough ($17/each) 1 Chocolate Chip, 3 White Chocolate Macadamia, 1 Double Chocolate Chip.
A huge thank you to the students and staff that helped unload and organize all the fruit and cookie dough orders and also to all those who supported the fund raiser.  We had close to $9,000 in sales.

Rivier Academy Christmas Trade Show

The event will feature local craft, beauty, accessory, and food vendors, a bake walk (bring your own container and mix and match to select the baking of your choice; pay per pound of baking), chili lunch, raffle prizes, and a silent auction.  The Rivier Academy Choirs will be Christmas caroling from 12:00  - 1:00pm.

Fundraising for the Philippines

NON UNIFORM DAY
MOVIE AFTERNOON

The Philippines has recently been hit by a typhoon and millions of people have been severely affected.
For a donation of $5 or more, students can sign up for one of the following movies:
 "Turbo", "42", "Soul Surfer" and "Now You See Me"
Please note: "Now You See Me" is only available for grades 9-12.
Students will also receive a snack and the day will be non-uniform.  What a deal!!  All donations will be forwarded to the Canadian Red Cross Relief Efforts in the Philippines.
All donations should be received by Wednesday, November 27.

This is a fund raising opportunity for all students to take part in if they wish.  Profits raised go towards the Europe trip that is taken in grade 11.  Should a student choose not to travel, the funds will be put towards their graduation.  Any fund raising that the students do is for themselves, not the group.  Should you have any questions regarding this fund raiser or any others, please do not hesitate to call the school office at 306-764-6289.

Steak or Lobster Supper

The Rivier Foundation will be hosting their second annual supper and dance at the Prince Albert Exhibition Centre.  The Foundation is a group that works towards meeting the needs of the students of Rivier Academy.  This event will help us raise funds to purchase updated theatre lights & projection screen for the auditorium.  Not only does the auditorium serve the school and its students, but it also is used by organizations and individuals in the Prince Albert area.

- Social Justice Group:  For those students going to Mont St. Joseph, please be at the main entrance by 9:30am.  Someone will meet you at the doors to take you to where you will be doing crafts with the residents.  Students will be dismissed at 11:30am.

They will depart from St. Mary High School at 6:30am and arrive back at school between 4:00 and 4:30pm.  Students are asked to be at St. Mary for 6:15am.  The group will be traveling by chartered bus and the students are asked to pack a lunch.

Study Abroad for FREE with the Vimy Foundation!

The Vimy Pilgrimage Award
In recognition of young people who demonstrate outstanding service, positive contributions, notable deeds, bravery or leadership, the Vimy Foundation has created the Vimy Pilgrimage Award. Exceptional Canadian youth – ages 14 to 17 – who have served their peers, schools, communities, province or country are eligible. The Award consists of a fully funded, week-long educational program in Europe to study Canada’s tremendous First World War effort. Scheduled in early April during Vimy week, the program will include classroom education and daily field trips to significant WWI sites and memorials.

Le prix du pèlerinage Vimy reconnait les actions faites par les jeunes (14 à 17 ans) qui font preuve d’un dévouement exceptionnel, de contributions positives, d’actes remarquables, d’actes de courage ou de leadership. Leurs actions ont pu aider leurs pairs, leur école, leur communauté, leur province ou leur pays.  Le prix du pèlerinage Vimy propose un programme éducatif d’une semaine, entièrement financé,  à Vimy en France pour en apprendre davantage sur les efforts considérables déployés par le Canada lors de la Première Guerre mondiale. Cette semaine, prévue pour le début du mois d’avril 2014.
Les formulaires de demande pour le Prix du pèlerinage Vimy  doivent être reçus au plus tard le 11 novembre à minuit.

Meet The Teacher Barbeque

Rivier families are welcome to attend our annual "Meet The Teacher" barbeque.  It will be held on Thursday, September 19th from 5:00 - 7:00pm in the dining room.  We will be serving up hotdogs, hamburgers ($1/each), orange drink, coffee and a special surprise dessert.  We look forward to seeing you there!
